Carstairs has grown to nearly 5,000 people, with new subdivisions on its south and east sides filled by families who work in Calgary or Airdrie. It is still surrounded by working farmland in Mountain View County, and the town’s older streets keep the feel of the railway town it started as. Both kinds of household end up with a vehicle they no longer want: the family SUV that needs an engine, the second car that failed inspection, or the farm half-ton that has been replaced and parked.
Our offer on any of these is based on the whole vehicle. Weight sets a floor, but drivetrain, body panels, wheels, battery and the catalytic converter are what move the number up. Late-model vehicles with a lot of reusable parts reach the top of our $200 to $10,000 range. Older vehicles with major mechanical failures sit lower, but still well above what a tow-only operator paying by the tonne would offer.
Because the QEII puts Carstairs on a direct line from our yard, we do not treat it as a remote pickup. The truck stops here regularly on its way to Didsbury and Olds. Evening pickups after the commute home are easy to arrange, and Saturdays and Sundays are open too. If you have more than one vehicle to move, tell us and we will bring a deck truck that can take them all.
